How it works
VaultPDF keeps your files private by processing everything locally in your browser: here's exactly how.
01
You open VaultPDF in your browser
No installation needed. VaultPDF is a web application that loads entirely from our servers, but after that initial load, your files never touch our infrastructure.
02
You select or drop your PDF files
Files are read directly from your device into the browser's memory using the File API. VaultPDF does not send them to a Mesanix Labs service for processing.
03
VaultPDF processes them locally
All PDF operations run inside your browser tab in JavaScript, using the open-source pdf-lib and PDF.js libraries. Merging, splitting, compressing, rotating: all executed on your device's CPU, not ours.
04
You download the result
The processed file is generated in browser memory and offered as a download. Reloading or closing the page ends the working session; downloaded files remain on your device.
File size limit
No fixed cap
VaultPDF does not impose an upload-size cap because documents are not uploaded. Capacity depends on the selected tool, the document, the browser, and available device memory. Very large or complex files can take longer or may exceed what the device can process.
Common questions
Does VaultPDF work offline?
Do not rely on offline use. VaultPDF needs a connection to load the application and may need additional tool assets. Document processing itself stays in the browser once the required code is available.
Are my files stored in the cloud?
No. VaultPDF does not provide cloud document storage. Selected files are held in browser memory for the working session and are not sent to a Mesanix Labs PDF-processing service.
Is there a file size limit?
VaultPDF does not impose an upload-size cap because documents are not uploaded. Practical limits depend on the document, tool, browser, and available device memory, so very large or complex files may fail to process.
